Clay Thomas - General Manager
Clay is a native of Tampa. A 1992 graduate of Washington and Lee University in Virginia, he returned to Tampa and began his work at Westchase in that same year as a part of the outside services team. Clay worked as an assistant golf professional and the Head Golf Professional at Westchase before becoming General Manager in 1999. Clay earned his Class A as a PGA professional in 1995 and currently serves as the Growth of the Game Chairman for the North Florida Section of the PGA. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Tampa Junior Golf Association.

Richard Veghte - Head Golf Professional
Richard began his golf career as an assistant golf professional in Vero Beach before earning his Class A as a PGA Professional in 1995. Shortly thereafter, Richard began as the Head Golf Professional at Crooked Creek, a private golf club just north of Atlanta, GA. As a native of Clearwater, Richard was anxious to return to the Sunshine state. He found a home at Westchase and has served as our Head Golf Professional since 2002.

Mike Murphy - Food and Beverage Director
Mike was born in Ft. Lee, Virginia but moved to the Clearwater area shortly after. Mike's experience in the food and beverage industry includes time spent as a manager for Chilis and First Watch Restaurants . Mike has been an avid golfer for about 10 years and recently enrolled in the PGA of America's apprentice program. He has been at Westchase since 2000.

Gene Roberts - Golf Course Superintendent
Gene began his golf course work as a member of the crew at the Linderhof Country Club in Glen, NH. He worked as the crew foreman at Wentworth Resort in his hometown of Jackson, NH before moving to Tampa in 1985 to become Assistant Superintendent at Cheval Golf and Polo Club. Gene's first Head Superintendent job was at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Tampa where he worked from 1989-1991 when he was hired to oversee the construction of the Westchase Golf Course. Since the course's opening in 1992 Gene has helped establish Westchase as one of the finest courses in the area through exceptional conditioning. Gene has been a member of the Golf Course Superintendents' Association of America since 1987.
